THE SABRE

The Sabre is our doff of the cap to the gin houses of old. Unashamedly classic, it is our Australian expression of a traditional gin, incorporating a strong undercurrent of citrus weaving through twelve spices and botanicals including juniper, lemon myrtle, lime peel and wattle seed.

THE CUTLASS

Australia's most awarded gin, The Cutlass is a beautifully aromatic gin with a unique Australian character. The Cutlass combines traditional juniper alongside some uniquely Australian elements, including cinnamon myrtle, lemon myrtle and Australian bush tomato.

At 50% alcohol by volume the Cutlass also comes into its own in:

Named after one of the most brazen and aggressive tactics in naval history, where warships released a close range barrage of firepower from every gun along one side of the hull, The West Winds Gin “The Broadside” was made using the beguiling and distinctive sea parsley and seasoned with Margaret River sea salt. We may well have created the world’s first salty gin and certainly the first using seawater. Utilising umami and mouth feel taste sensations, we reckon it’s up there with salty caramel and is the churros of drinking.

THE BROADSIDE NAVY STRENGTH

The Broadside Navy Strength, at 58% ABV, joins The Sabre and The Cutlass as a staple of our distillery. As for drinks ideas, we say keep it simple...sip it straight up on a cold winters evening, appreciate its “full-on” flavour in a dry Martini with a grapefruit twist or treat yourself to an explosive G&T with a slice of lemon.

THE CAPTAIN'S CUT

Launched on World Gin Day in 2015, the Captain's Cut, at 63% ABV is not to be trifled with. The land's strongest gin stands up in a Dirty Martini, a crew favourite called The Last Word or a G&T with a slice of pink grapefruit and crushed fennel seeds or lemon peel with cracked pepper finish.

THE MAIDENII VOYAGE

Our Barrel Expedition is not just about working with barrels that have previously aged other amazing liquids, it’s also about working with friends and indulging our fancies. Our first voyage is with Maidenii, an outstanding Australian Vermouth made with Wormwood, Strawberry Gum, River Mint and Wattle Seed. Maidenii Sweet Vermouth barrels truly enhance our first batch of Barrel Expedition gin. Excellent in a Negroni or drink it straight up.
